6 Awesome Local Makers

It’s a challenge to pack gift boxes when SQUISH Candies are on the list. Somehow it always turns into “one for the box, one for us”. Based in Montreal, SQUISH is a woman-owned gourmet candy maker that specializes in over 100 flavours of gourmet vegan gummies. 

Comeback Snacks

In the case of Emily O’Brien, it’s okay to call it a comeback. Comeback Snacks is popcorn with a mission – to make fun and delicious snacks while making a difference in the lives of people trying to make a comeback. It’s a mission near to O’Brien’s heart. She came up with the idea for her business while serving time in prison for a mistake made in her youth. Today, O’Brien is using her business and her platform to help former inmates get jobs after completing their sentences.

Western Sky Designs

Based in Kitchener, Ontario, Maddie Resmer is a mixed-Anishinaabe and Two-Spirit artist from Pìkwakanagàn First Nation and Kitigan-Zibi First Nation. Resmer’s work focuses on creating wearable and shareable acts of Indigenous resilience.

C’est BON BON

There’s no such thing as too much candy. C’est BONBON are the makers of six different and amazing flavoured candies – including Super Sour and some of the best peach rings we’ve ever had.

Arrow It Forward

No matter the season, making where we live feel like home means the right decor, the perfect furniture, and the scents of Arrow It Forward – handmade home fragrance products that will inspire and refresh any space in your home.
